 A certain number of weeks ago on some day of the week, amid the chaos of a million assignments, projects and exams, I went on an industrial visit from my college to   The Government Museum, Chennai (famously known as the Egmore Museum).E stablished in 1851, this museum holds the distinction of being India’s first state-owned museum. It  is the second oldest museum in India after the Indian Museum in Kolkata. Rich in archaeological and numismatic collections, the museum has the largest collection of Roman antiquities, outside Europe.  It also has the country's best collection of South Indian bronzes, both ancient and modern icons of Nataraja, Rama, Sita, Lakshmana and Hanuman. Despite the large and impressive collection of art and artefacts we were apparently there to see ,my mind wandered, just like the mind of any other sleep-deprived college student.
